Plans to construct the Montreal Quebec Temple were announced 6 August 1998. Church leaders broke ground 9 April 1999, and Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995 to 2008, dedicated the Montreal Quebec Temple 4 June 2000. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in Quebec, Ontario and Vermont.
The 10,700-square-foot temple’s exterior is Bethel white granite.
