Canadian Interfaith Initiatives Highlighted at Parliament of the World’s Religions

The seventh Parliament of the World’s Religions, featuring more than 500 programs and events, commenced in Toronto, Ontario, November 1. The parliament brings together approximately 10,000 registrants for conversation surrounding the 2018 theme “The Promise of Inclusion, The Power of Love: Pursuing Global Understanding, Reconciliation and Change.”

A Canadian Interfaith Conversation (CIC) panel was moderated by Sandra Pallin, executive member of CIC and national director of public affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The panel, composed of CIC executive members, detailed various CIC initiatives, including Our Whole Society conference, the Canadian Interfaith Research Centre for Learning and Engagement and New Generation Interfaith Initiative.

Pallin says of her participation, “CIC brings together more than 40 organizations that are united and exemplary in their commitment to religious and secular harmony. It’s a real privilege to work together as friends in such an important cause.”

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are governed by their belief that all are equal before God and that all are His beloved children.
