For the past 20 years, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hamilton, Ontario, have hosted “Help a Child Smile” Christmas parties at their local meetinghouse. Each year, the event attracts up to 250 children with cancer.

Syrian refugees coming to Nova Scotia, Canada, will greatly benefit from a massive effort to prepare thousands of donated household items, clothing, furniture, toiletries and school supplies upon their arrival.

Nearly 500 participants gathered for the inaugural Canadian Black History Summit held at the Etobicoke, Ontario, building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 16, 2016.

On May 4, 2016, in an effort to protect the population of Fort McMurray, Alberta from a raging wildfire, 88,000 people were ordered from their homes in the largest mandatory evacuation in Canadian history.

A congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Surrey, British Columbia initiated Christian worship services in Hindi and Punjabi on Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Youth from across Ontario attending a youth leadership conference in Waterloo, Ontario participated in a service partnership on August 13, blessing families in need by assembling 174,000 meals in three hours .

One year ago the Canadian government released the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 “calls to action” ~ the result of six years of dialogue, the involvement of three commissioners and the collection of over 6,750 stories from residential school survivors and witnesses.

Leaders of the Church joined government and community leaders from Manitoba and Ontario on December 3, 2016, to break ground for the much-anticipated Winnipeg Manitoba Temple. This will be the ninth temple in Canada.
